Peggy J. Severson, 64, of Everett, passed away peacefully at home
on May 11, 2005, after a long illness. Peggy was born to Oscar and Edith
Walters, in Arvin, California, on November 8, 1940. Her growing up years
were spent in Yakima, Washington. She worked many years as a bus driver
and Driver Trainer instructor for the Tahoma School District in Maple Valley,
retiring in 1998. In 2000 she received a lung transplant at the University
of Washington Medical Center. She, along with others who received lung
transplants that year, formed a caring, close knit group which became known
as the "2000 Bears". She was also very involved in the Walk and Talk sponsored
by the Life Center Northwest and Moyer Foundation for organ transplants.
Peggy will be remembered by those who knew her as a caring, warm human
being. Her sense of humor and love of life endeared her to all. She loved
to fish, play a round of golf with friends, camp at Alder Lake and tour
the country in an RV. She never turned down an opportunity to visit or
be with friends and loved to cook gourmet food. Her greatest joy was to
be around her grandchildren.
She is survived by her partner of 29 years, Jan Carlson; son, Gordon
Severson, of Stanwood; daughter, Cindy Fulton, of Everett; granddaughters,
Kaylene Fulton and Kelli Fulton; sister, Sue (Ed) Parrish, of Yakima; brothers,
Glenn Walters, of Selah, Bob (Lynette) Walters, of Yakima, Dan (Charlotte)
Walters, of Yakima, Jack (Greta) Walters, of Selah, and Jim Walters, of
Yakima; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, but never forgotten
by any who were fortunate enough to become her friend.
A memorial service was held at 2:00 p.m., May 21, at Our Savior's Lutheran
Church, 215 Mukilteo Blvd (corner of Mukilteo and Olympic Boulevards, P.O.
